Bailey McMoore Jr., 67, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Friday, 25 November 2016 at St. Francis Hospital. Viewing will be Friday, 2 December 2016 from 5pm-7pm, in the Wildwood Room of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA. Funeral services will be on Saturday, 3 December 2016, 2pm-3pm with viewing prior to services from 12:30-1:30pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints chapel, 4400 Reese Road Columbus, GA. It was Mr. McMoore's wish to return to Hawaii, so a second service and the burial will be on Oahu.
Mr. McMoore was born in American Samoa to the late Peili McMoore and Fa'alupe Tautu. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served his country honorably in the United States Army. Mr. McMoore was a former long distance runner, and competed in many races in Hawaii to include the Honolulu Marathon. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially supporting his precious grandsons at their church, schools, and sports activities. His tireless commitment to lead a Christ centered life was evident in his service of various church callings, as well as helping family, neighbors and friends in times of need. Mr. McMoore is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Risepa C. McMoore of Columbus; three daughters, Lupe Alford and her husband Robby of Holloman AFB, NM, Cecilia McMoore of Honolulu, HI and Jaslynn McMoore of Columbus, GA; one sister, Taumaoe Suiaunoa; three brothers, Luga "Nick" Punimata, Keniseli Lafaele and Filemoni Tautu; four grandsons Amuia Alford (19 yrs old), Elijah Alford (17 yrs old), Eliu McMoore (13 yrs old) and Bailey McMoore-Akau (6 yrs old); and many nieces and nephews. Mr. McMoore will be greatly missed, but there is comfort in knowing that we will see him again. Psalms 30:5 "...weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning".

So sorry to hear of Bailey's passing. He was such a kind sweet hard working man who loved his family dearly. I had the pleasure of working with him at the Post Office and sharing the excitement of watching our grandson's ball games.
My heart goes out to this wonderful family.
