Baldemar "Ray" Hernandez, 84 left us courageously and peacefully on July 13, 2014 in El Paso, Texas. He was an Honorable Retired Army Veteran of the United States Army of 28 years. Ray was a two time Purple Heart Recipient, Korean War Veteran and a two time Vietnam War Veteran. His passion was the sport of boxing and was a boxer for the United States Army where he received the title of all Army Champion and was a two time Golden Glove Champion in El Paso, Texas while serving at Fort Bliss, Texas. Baldemar "Ray" Hernandez, 84 left us courageously and peacefully on July 13, 2014 in El Paso, Texas. He was an Honorable Retired Army Veteran of the United States Army of 28 years. Ray was a two time Purple Heart Recipient, Korean War Veteran and a two time Vietnam War Veteran. He is survived by his wife: Margaret Hernandez; children: Catherine Rae Vasquez, Ray B. Hernandez Jr. and Christopher Hernandez; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5: 00 to 9:00 pm on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Crestview Funeral Home 1462 N. Zaragoza, with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be at 9:15 am on Friday, July 18, 2014 at St. Raphael Catholic Church. Interment will follow at 11:00 am at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
