I remember the first time I met Barbara, she was so sweet and nice to me and always talkative. When I was around her I always felt welcomed, I've never felt that with anyone before. She was the type of person to put a smile on your face when you were in a bad mood. I'll truly miss her and I was blessed to have met her. Rest in paradise and rejoice in heaven Barbara Jean Carter.

My friendship and sisterhood with Barbara begin in San Francisco at a Federal Personnel Conference in the early 1970s. We were discussing our daughters (Terry and Kimberly) and the similarities in our personalities for raising girls. Thus begin our lifelong professional relationship and everlasting Sisterhood. Barbara loved her family and friends unconditionally. I was honored to be one on that receiving end. Through the years of working in our respective professions and serving in our respective Parishes, advocating for Civil and human rights in both the public and private sectors and being "political hounds"; our bond grew stronger. We've shared in the joys of life and our Catholic faith; and that there is a hereafter. Now the bell has tolled for Barbara, she has taken her place above and it's up to us, the living, to continue in her stead. God giveth and He taketh. Ours is not to question why. The day before she moved home with Hospice care she instructed me on making sure my house was in Order!! And lastly "to take care of yourself Glo."Your health comes first". That was Barbara. Indeed!!!
So Johnny, Terry and Princess: you will be alright, you must carry on and God will give you the guidance and strength to continue Barbara's legacy until.....! I love you all as she loved you; unconditionally. God bless.
Love,
Glo (Gloria)

Barbara Carter was a blessing to me, I will miss the beauty of her spirit and soul more important I will miss her loving hugs. Barbara was brought into my life at time whereas, I knew she was God sent. It was natural for her to always have a loving heart as wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Father God even though our time was short together it was wonderful and so special to me, thank you for bringing her into my life . I love you Cousin Barbara and I will miss you, may your rest be peaceful.
