Mrs. Barbara Jean Armstrong Funeral Services for Mrs. Barbara Jean Armstrong, age 53 of Hanceville, will be held on Saturday, January 1, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Bethlehem East Cemetery in Hanceville, with Rev. Jeno Owens, Rev. Dudley Brock and Pastor Matt Carmichael officiating. Moss-Service Funeral Home of Cullman directing. Funeral Services for Mrs. Barbara Jean Armstrong, age 53 of Hanceville, will be held on Saturday, January 1, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel. Barbara passed away on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at her residence. She was born in Cullman on April 11, 1957 to the late Andrew Harley Gilliland and Ima Inez Spradlin. She is preceded in death by her parents, by one son, Billy Wayne Armstrong; two brothers, Billy and Tommy Gilliland.
She was a 7 year cancer survivor and an active supporter of Relay for Life. She enjoyed life and laughter, loved her family, her friends and her church. She enjoyed cooking for everyone and was most happy when spending time and taking care of her grandchildren. Barbara was affectionately known as "Boo Boo" to her family.
Survivors include her Husband of 35 years, Wayne Armstrong; a Daughter – April (Adam) Teater; one Son – David Armstrong; three Grandchildren – Addison, Aliya and Aiden Teater; two Sisters – Martha (Charles) Brown and Brenda Moore; two Brothers – Kenneth (Gail) Gilliland and Jerry (Christy Howard) Gilliland; Nieces and Nephews; Christy Brown, Nancy (Wendell) Greer, CWO Joseph (Pat) Brown, Phillip Gilliland, Tina Moore, Andrew (Jennifer) Moore, Mary Anna Moore, Scotty Moore and Sabrina Gilliland
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 31, 2010 at the funeral home, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
