Barbara (Preston) Austin-Smith, age 76 went to be with the Lord on Thursday February 24, 2011 surrounded by loving family. She was born in Buffalo/Meally, Kentucky the daughter of Tom and Dorothy (McKenzie) Preston. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard A. Smith Jr., son and daughter in law, John and Jan Austin of Centerville, Ohio, a daughter and son in law, Jacqueline and Bobby Goldenbogen of Beavercreek, Ohio and her grandchildren that were her pride and joy, Jessica Austin, Barbara Caroline Adams and Cole Adams. She is also survived by her brothers Robert (Norma) Preston, Jimmy Preston, her sister Diana Kirk and many extended family members and friends. Preceding her in death is her first husband of 48 years, Jack Austin, daughter Barbara Kay, her parents and her brother, Tommy. Barbara was a charter member of the United Baptist Church. She worked for 30 years at the Mel-O-Dee Restaurant in New Carlisle. Friends may call in the Burcham Funeral Home, 119 E. Main Street, Fairborn, Ohio Sunday February 27, 2011 from 3 to -7 P.M. Funeral Services will be held Monday February 28. 2011 at the United Baptist Church, 660 W. Hyde Road, Yellow, Springs, Ohio. Barbara's final resting place will be in the Preston Family Cemetery in Meally, Kentucky.
