Chief Legalman, USN (Ret.) Barry Henry Klinikowski reported to the staff of the Supreme Commander on January 27, 2013 at 1637. He was born in Reading, PA, on May 9, 1945, to Henry and Jean (Ritter) Klinikowski. Barry enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserve on 9 July 1963 and upon graduation from high school commenced his active duty. 21 years later he retired from the Navy on 1 December 1984. Chief Legalman, USN (Ret.) Barry Henry Klinikowski reported to the staff of the Supreme Commander on January 27, 2013 at 1637. He was born in Reading, PA, on May 9, 1945, to Henry and Jean (Ritter) Klinikowski. Barry enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserve on 9 July 1963 and upon graduation from high school commenced his active duty. 21 years later he retired from the Navy on 1 December 1984. Barry continued working as a civilian in the federal service and retired from there on 22 September 2002.

Barry started his naval career as a yeoman serving on the USS Myles C. Fox, USS Procyon, COMCRUDESLANT Staff, NAVBASE Newport, RI, USS Fulton and NRD Cleveland. He was a "plank owner" of the new navy rating Legalman and served in that capacity at NLSO Philadelphia, NAVSTA Keflafik, Iceland, CINCPACFLT Staff, and NAS Cecil Field, FL where he retired. He received awards for serving in Vietnam and 5 Good Conduct Awards. Barry was a member and past president of Fleet Reserve Association Branch 126, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1689, American Legion Post 250, Florida CPO Association, and the National CPO Association.

While serving in Newport, RI, he met and married his wife of 44 years Martha. He was devoted to her and his family. Barry is survived by his wife Martha and their two children, David Klinikowski married to Barbra Martin-Klinikowski and his daughter Ashley and step-daughters Katie, Megan and Erica, and daughter Brenda Klob married to Jason Klob and their twin daughters Eliza and Alanna. He is also survived by his brother Richard (Lynn) of Reading, PA, and sister Barbra Michael of Beaufort, SC.

He was an active member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Jacksonville Beach. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5535 and the Knights of Columbus Holy Trinity Assembly 2368.

Barry was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia Eagles, Penn State Nittany Lions and NASCAR.

Funeral mass will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 435 1st Ave N, Jacksonville Beach on Thursday January 31, 2013 at 10 AM. Viewing will be held at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville Beach on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 from 6-8pm. Burial with full military honors will be held 11am Friday, February 1 at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd. Jacksonville.
