Since I have been good friends with Billie Koshaba since she was a 9th grader in high school, I remember Aunt Bella from my frequent visits to the Koshaba houses. She was fun loving and friendly. Her family was important to her, and she was always very supportive of them. I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of Aunt Bella.

My parents and I lived next to Paul and Bella on Dewey Street in Flint, from 1957-1966. I started calling them Aunt Bella and Uncle Paul one day after they had a visit from their family, and I overheard them being called that by their nieces, I suppose; I had adopted them as my aunt and uncle, too! They were two people who were good neighbors and who treated me very well. I remember Bella telling me about the first time she saw me, a little baby in a pink snowsuit. I am told by my mom that I used to swing and sing my Sunday School songs on the swing set next to their backyard, and they would listen without letting on that they could hear me, otherwise I am sure I would have stopped singing so loud! Bella paid her respect to my mother and me when my dad passed away suddenly in 1976. I recognized her immediately, and seeing her and knowing she cared about our family reminded me what good neighbors we had in Paul and Bella. God bless you, her family; you have my sincere condolences. Cindy Gutgesell Milbrath
