Ben Snyder, age 90, of Highland, IN passed away Friday, May 12, 2017. He is survived by his loving daughter, Debra (Herman) Hammonds; two granddaughters: Kimberly (Tom) Spencer and Sandra (Mat) Ernst; five great grandchildren: Clayton, Jessica, Brooklyn, Griffin and Emily; sister, Betty Neilson; brother in law, Robert (Susan) Menke; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Snyder was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN with Randy Harrison, Minister officiating. Interment will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (time of service) at Kuiper Funeral Home. Mr. Snyder retired from Inland Steel with 35 years of service and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was an avid sports fan and White Sox fan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ben's loving memory to Franciscan Hospice or the American Cancer Society. Please visit: www.kuiperfh.com.
