Ben C. McHaney, 88, Kokomo went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 29, 2012, at Howard Regional Hospital. He was born March 18, 1924, in Karnes, Texas, to Max and Rosa (Cervantes) McHaney. On June 15, 1957, he married Dominga Valadez, and she survives. He served in the United States Army during World War II and retired from both Kulox as a welder and First National Bank as custodian. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and enjoyed helping the migrants of the church. In addition to his wife, Dominga McHaney, he is survived by three sons, Ben V. Ben C. McHaney, 88, Kokomo went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 29, 2012, at Howard Regional Hospital. He was born March 18, 1924, in Karnes, Texas, to Max and Rosa (Cervantes) McHaney. On June 15, 1957, he married Dominga Valadez, and she survives.

He served in the United States Army during World War II and retired from both Kulox as a welder and First National Bank as custodian. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and enjoyed helping the migrants of the church.

In addition to his wife, Dominga McHaney, he is survived by three sons, Ben V. McHaney Jr. (Machelle), Ft. Wayne, LeeRoy McHaney (Eloise), Wabash, and Alex McHaney (Peggy), Swayzee; two daughters, Betty McHaney Brubaker (Jeff), Indianapolis, and Nancy McHaney White (fiancé Kenny Ort), Hartford City; twelve grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jesse McHaney (Francis), Richard McHaney (Josie), and David McHaney (Hope); one sister, Simona Luna (Ascencion); and numerous of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Rudy McHaney, Joe McHaney, and Robert McHaney; and one sister, Concepcion Gonzales.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 3155 S. 200 W., Kokomo, IN 46902, with Father Rowland officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, 2097 W. Alto Rd., Kokomo, IN 46902.
