It is with deep sadness that we announce the loss of our beautiful Bergit, age 80, who passed away peacefully with her family by her side, at the Royal University Hospital on April 10th, 2012 after a courageous six-year battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving husband Terry (of 52 years), her two daughters Kelly (Kevin) Wist, Mary-Ann (James) Brown, grandchildren Kyle and Kory Wist, sisters Mabel and Siggie, cousin Gladys, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents John and Mary Ronneberg and sister, Anna. Bergit was born in Norquay, SK on December 14th, 1931. Bergit's legacy was her gift to the world as an elementary school teacher. Her greatest love was spending time with her family. After her retirement in 1991 she spent time gardening, cooking, bowling, square dancing and doting on her special grandsons. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, sister-in-law, neighbour and friend and will be dearly missed. Many lives were touched by this remarkable woman. Special thanks to the staff at RUH for making her final weeks comfortable. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations on her behalf to St. Martin's United Church or the Canadian Cancer Society. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, April 18th at 11:00 am at St. Martin's United Church, at 2617 Clarence Avenue South, Saskatoon; luncheon to follow. Arrangements entrusted to Acadia McKague's Funeral Centre, 915 Acadia Dr., Saskatoon, Sk. 955-1600 Condolences to the family may be emailed to www.acadiamckaguesfuneralcentre.com
