Bernard "David" Mayber, 86, left to be with the Lord Aug. 29, 2011. A World War II Veteran, he was part of the Normandy Invasion, and POW. He was a partner with W.M. Mayber & Sons Concrete and retired from USC. He was a member of First Church of God and leaves behind his beloved wife of 65 ½ years, Vivian; three daughters, Iris (Bob) Garcia, TX, Kathy Ranson, Pueblo, and Donna (Dana) VanWagner of Penrose, CO; sister, Daisy (Wilbur) Ashley; ten grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Visitation, 4 – 7pm Thursday and Funeral Service 10am Friday, both at Adrian Comer Garden Chapel. Interment, Imperial Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to Sangre de Cristo Hospice in thanks for their special care of our loved one, in lieu of flowers. The family is grateful for all the prayers and food.

Mr. David Mayber was an inspiration to me and my family, I loved how he loved his family, his beatiful wife Vivian, his church and GOD. My family will never forget you David, you brought a smile to our face and our hearts every time we see you or heard your name :) You will surely be missed, but never forgotten. WE LOVE YOU! WHAT CAN I SAY ABOUT MY UNCLE-DAVID? I WAS JUST STARTING TO GET TO KNOW YOU AND YOU GET CALLED AWAY.THE LORD MUST NEED YOU MORE THEN WE DO HERE.YOU AND AUNT-VIV MADE ME FEEL WHOLE AGAIN. WHEN DOTTIE AND I WOULD GO TO PUEBLO HER AND I WOULD ALWAYS STOP AND PICK UP A BUCKET OF CHICKEN AND ALL THE FIXINGS THAT CAME WITHIT. WE WOULD STOP AT UNCLE-DAVID'S & AUNT- VIV'S FOR LUNCH. WE WOULD SIT THERE AND TALK ABOUT THE THINGS WE WERE MAKING FOR SPECIAL HOLIDAYS AND BACK IN THE OLD DAYS. AND ABOUT OUR DAD LES. HOW HE WAS BACK THEN.THEN WE WOULD ALL SIT AROUND THE DINNING TABLESAY GRACE AND THEN HAVE LUNCH. THERE WAS SUCH A GOOD FEELING THAT I TURNED TO UNCLE-DAVID AND SAID IS THIS WHAT A FAMILY IS SUPPOSE TO FEEL LIKE? YOUR RESPONCES WAS WE DO THIS ALL THE TIME, LIKE IT WAS NO BIG DEAL MAYBE TO YOU IT WAS'NT BUT TO ME IT WAS THE NEATEST THING I EVER FELT IN MY LIFE.
