Born during the spring at the southern edge of the Fort Peck Reservation in Poplar, Montana, on May 3, 1936 to Joseph & Isabele Morin, Bernie left high school during his junior year to join the US Navy. On May 15, 1965 he married Gail Overbey in Ephrata, Washington's Saint Rosa of Lima Catholic Church, which was followed by a real "whoop-t-doo" party at the Grand Coulee, Washington Moose Club.
A lifelong member of the Roman Catholic Church, Bernie had also belonged to both the Moose and Eagle Clubs, was active with 4-H and served with the Elmer City Volunteer Fire Dept. for 22 years. Bernie retired as a warehouseman with the D.N.R., enjoyed hunting, fishing and the annual Morin Family Reunions. Bernie was known throughout the Grand Coulee area for his dahlias and tomatoes, but his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and being with children, having coached many in Little League, including his own two sons.

We met Bernie through the Morin Family Reunions in Marion, Montana every summer in June. Both Bernie and Gail immediately captured our hearts because of their love for their family. Bernie will be greatly missed by anyone who had the pleasure to meet him. Our families prayers are with Gail and her children. Ted and Brenda Spearman and Family from Spokane, WA.

Uncle Bernie was a positive and upbeat person. We tried to get to Elmer City to see him and it did not work out. He told me he would juat have to catch us the next time around. I am so glad I was able to get to know him over the years. He was my favorite uncle even though I am not legally related to him. He will always be in my heart and my memories.May he rest in peace.
