TOWNS, Bernard (Bernie) – of Flushing, age 57, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Avalon Hospice. Bernie was a man who loved God, his family and music of any kind. He proudly served as a hospital corpsman in the U.S. Navy and worked 27 years as a postal clerk. Bernie played trumpet with the Flint Concert Band and Frankentrost Band. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Clara Towns and by his nephew, Jeff Fenner. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Resurrection Reformed Church, 5225 Calkins Road, with Reverends Doug and Christie Kiel officiating.
