BERNARD E. 'BERNIE' WOLFE, 89, of Fairfield, IL formerly of Mt. Erie, IL passed away at 5:20PM Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Way-Fair Nursing & Rehab Center in Fairfield, IL.
Bernie was born March 18, 1925 at Mt. Erie, IL to Lot and Lavada (Ferguson) Wolfe.
Bernie was a retired farmer. He was a Navy veteran of WWII. Bernie was a lifetime member of the Mt. Erie Ruritan Club, a lifetime member of Anthony Doherty Masonic Lodge #1111 of Cisne, and was of the Methodist faith.
Bernie is survived by his son Tim (Marilee) Wolfe of Fairfield, IL; a brother Robert (Marsha) Wolfe of Salem, IL; brother-in-law Noble Talley of Salem, IL and granddaughter Alicia (Kevin) Thompson of Fairfield and two great grandchildren Nick and Zoe Thompson. Several nieces and nephews as well as Garry (Sharon) Atteberry and Larry Atteberry and families also survive.
Preceding him in death were a longtime companion Kathleen Atteberry, his parents, a sister Betty, a brother William and a great granddaughter.
Funeral service for Bernard 'Bernie' Wolfe will be 3PM Saturday, April 26, 2014 at Hosselton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Scott Cemetery with full military rites at graveside. A Masonic service will be at 3PM Saturday, preceding the funeral service. Visitation will be from 1PM until the time of service on Saturday.
Memorials may be given to the Mt. Erie Ruritan Club and will be accepted at Hosselton Funeral Home.
