Bernetta A. “Bernie” Curtis, 86, Liberty, MO died November 26, 2016. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m., Wed. Nov. 30 at St. James Catholic Church, Liberty, with funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Kansas City, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
Bernie was born April 8, 1930 in Tipton, MO. On September 23, 1950 she married Charles M. Curtis. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church. Bernie was a master gardener and was often called the “Orchid Lady”. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Clara Knipp, step-father, Otto Dubbert, sister-in-law Susan Knipp and grandson Chad Willis. Survivors include her husband Charles M. Curtis; children, Allen Curtis, Larry (Mimi) Curtis, Dan (Roberta) Curtis, Diana (Sam) Archer, Sharon Willis, Karen (Kevin) Hampton, Brian Curtis, Tim (Tricia) Curtis, Craig (Paula) Curtis; 26 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren with one on the way; siblings Ray Knipp and Loretta (Jim) Cline and numerous nieces and nephews.

I loved Bernie Curtis. She was my neighbor in Gladstone for many years and then many years later was my neighbor in Plattsburg. Memories for a lifetime. Hope you and all your wonderful family are doing well.
