Bernice Alsaker Obituary

Bernice Alsaker passed away January 26, 2010 after a short illness. Bernice was born in Troy, Idaho to Augusta and Albert Johnson on November 29, 1924. She is preceded in death by her husband, Don; grandson, Seth; brother, Clifford; and sisters, Ruby and Betty. She grew up in Troy, Idaho and graduated from Troy High School in 1943. At an early age she practiced her lifelong love of giving and helping others. She met the love of her life, Don and they were married in Potlatch, Idaho on March 28, 1947. She is survived by her son, Dan Alsaker (Anne); daughter, Pam Hemingway (Tom); and her prized possessions-her grandchildren, Dyche (Brooke), Kama (Jake), Britt (Greg), Kjell (Alisha), Kelsey, Ashley, Trent and Trevor (Alyssia); great grandchildren, Quinn, Lauren and Lukas; and her sister, Wanda (Tom) and sister-in-laws Eva and Myra; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her rich history of family, Bernice leaves behind her extended Broadway Truck Stops family. This consisted of 47 dedicated years and her many friends who touched her life daily. The family offers a heartfelt thanks to the caregivers and medical professionals who showed great compassion and concern throughout Bernice's illness. A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Christ Lutheran Church, 13009 East Broadway Avenue, Spokane Valley, WA.
