Bertha Lucille "Lucy" Allen, 69, of Wichita Falls died Saturday, April 02, 2011. A graveside service has been scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 5 at Crestview Memorial Park officiated by Jamie Fowler.
Lucy was born January 24, 1942 in Figure Five, AR to Tommy Fletcher and Dessie Mae (Edison) Stewart. June 25, 1957 she married Sammy Allen in Amarillo, TX and together they raised three children. She was a homemaker who made an art form out of sewing. She collected porcelain dolls and salt & pepper shakers as well as work on family history.
Mrs. Allen is preceded in death by her daughter, Carole Phoncille Sharer in 2002; father, Tommy Stewart; mother, Dessie Mae Howard; step-father, Troy Howard; and sister, Kathrine Hyatt.
Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years, Sammy Allen of Wichita Falls; devoted children and their spouses, Wanda Sue Frie and Marvin Wayne Ross of Jonestown, TX, Sammy Joe and Esther Allen of Wichita Falls; sister and husband, Norma and Art Orr of Wichita Falls; brothers and spouses, Bill and Roberta Stewart of Amarillo, Donald and Sandra Stewart of Van Buren, AR; nine grandchildren, Jolene, Joseph, Jennifer, Marshall, Mitchell, Sammy Jr., Kendall, Mathew, Kelsey; three great-grandchildren with another on the way; and special niece, Andrea "Cissy" Allen.
If desired, memorials may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
