Bertha Nell Lane, 93, a fifty-eight year resident of Beaumont, passed away on Tuesday August 23, 2016 in Beaumont. Mrs. Lane was born on November 20, 1922 in Wausau City, Florida to her parents, David Lee and Carl Miller Taylor who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her husband John C. Lane, Sr., and one daughter; Josephine Tupper. Bertha worked at local convenience stores and in her spare time she enjoyed playing Bingo, card games,
dominos, and especially going to casinos to gamble. She also spent a large part of her life sewing and crocheting.
Surviving Bertha are her son; Archie Brown and his wife JoAnn of Huntington, son John C. Lane, Jr. and wife Dawn of Beaumont, daughter; Pat Ainsworth and husband Walter of Augusta, Ga., son; Mike Lane and wife Carolyn of Beaumont, eleven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Friday August 26, 2016 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home from six p.m. to eight p.m.. A celebration of Mrs. Lane's life will be held on Saturday August 27, 2016 at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
