Bessie Alexander Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 15, 2013.

Bessie Carol Alexander, 73, passed away late Friday night at Regency Care of Clemmons after suffering from complications of a July 2013 stroke. She died peacefully in her sleep. Carol was born on October 24, 1939 to ILA and Eugene Wingler of Wilkes County, North Carolina and was the youngest of five children. Her favorite sister, Jessie Lee Bouchelle of North Wilkesboro, is the only remaining sibling. She'll be remembered by many for handmade gifts she gave to loved ones, as she was a skilled craftswoman. Also, she cherished time spent with her family traveling and camping and enjoyed that as long as her health allowed. She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, John Garey Cline Alexander of North Wilkesboro, who is also a resident of Regency Care of Clemmons. The couple lived in Pfafftown, North Carolina and both were members of Pfafftown Baptist Church. The children are James Dean Alexander of Winston Salem, Timothy Alvin Alexander and Lisa S. Alexander of Yadkinville, and Heather Alexander Russell and Donald A. Russell of Germanton. Her reason for living was her only grandson, Zachary Tyler Russell of Germanton, who is now a senior at South Stokes High School. Services will be at Vogler and Sons on Reynolda Road Wednesday, September 18, 2013. The family will receive friends at noon, with the funeral following at 1:00 pm. Burial will be at Forsyth Memorial Park. Online condolences to www.frankvoglerandsons.com
