Beth S. Powers WEST COLUMBIA- Funeral services for Beth S. Powers, 65, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Trinity Baptist Church Cayce, with interment in Southland Memorial Gardens. Dr. Eddie Coakley is officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from 6:00 p.m.until 8:00 p.m. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church Cayce. Pallbearers are: Jayme Storey, Sean Cooper, Blake Storey, Brad Burnett, Gary Guest and Troy Kyzer. Dr. Eddie Coakley is officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from 6:00 p.m.until 8:00 p.m. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church Cayce. Pallbearers are: Jayme Storey, Sean Cooper, Blake Storey, Brad Burnett, Gary Guest and Troy Kyzer. Honorary Pallbearers are, Amy Storey Davenport, Jennifer Cooper Porter, Alisha Wallington, Chandler Storey, Mary Katherine Storey, Emma Claire Storey, Tommy Burnett, Courtney Powers, Stephanie Powers and Martha's Vineyard Sunday school class.
Mrs. Powers was born May 4, 1952 in Batesburg, SC and passed away August 2, 2017. She was a daughter of the late Willie Storey and Lizzy Beth Spurlock Storey. Beth was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and attended Martha's Vineyard Sunday school class. She enjoyed her family; especially her grandchild, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, aunts and uncles. She enjoyed trips to the mountains and talking on the phone. Beth made friends with everyone she met. She will surely be missed by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Steve Powers of West Columbia; sons, Todd Griffin (Val) and David Griffin (Kim) both of West Columbia; grandson, Levi Griffin; sisters, Jennifer May (Roger) of Sumter, Mary Burnett (Tom) of Lexington; brother, Tommy Storey (Caroline) of Lexington, many nieces, nephews great-nieces and great-nephews. Also surviving is her mother-in-law, Betty P. Powers of West Columbia; brother-in-law, Mike Powers (Candy) of Lexington; aunts, Mattie Gulledge of Trenton, Gail Dabrowski (Jerry) of Holland, MI. She was predeceased by her parents; granddaughter, Aubree Elizabeth Griffin and father-in-law, W.C. Powers.
