Obituary

Bethel C. Brown, 83, of Ooltewah, TN,passed away Thursday, May 10, 2012. A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, he was retired from Johnston Southern Company as Sr. Vice President and CFO and was a member of the Ooltewah United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army and was a member of the VFW. He was the son of the late Bethel C. and Evelyn Hannah Brown and was also preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Tull and a niece, Melanie Tull. Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Charlotte Brown; three daughters, Karen Cooley, Chattanooga, Cheryl (Jim) Wildes, Chattanooga and Linda...

Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Charlotte Brown; three daughters, Karen Cooley, Chattanooga, Cheryl (Jim) Wildes, Chattanooga and Linda (Jeffrey) Byard, Ocala, FL; son, Steve Newbould, Knoxville, TN; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga, 4411 Oakwood Drive, Chattanooga, TN 37416 or to the Ooltewah United Methodist Church, 6131 Relocation Way, Ooltewah, TN 37363. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Amy Nutt officiating. A private family interment will be in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 7414 Old Lee Highway.
