Obituary

Beto "Perfecto" M. Cervantes went to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday July 16, 2014 at the age of 92. Beto was preceeded in death by his parents Apolonio and Trinquilina Cervantes; sisters Ofilia, Genoveva and Eudelia; brother Pedro and son Encarnacion. Beto is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Cordilia and daughters Imelda G. Cervantes and Georgina Cervantes along with numerous nieces and nephews. Beto "Perfecto" M. Cervantes went to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday July 16, 2014 at the age of 92.

Beto was preceeded in death by his parents Apolonio and Trinquilina Cervantes; sisters Ofilia, Genoveva and Eudelia; brother Pedro and son Encarnacion. Beto is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Cordilia and daughters Imelda G. Cervantes and Georgina Cervantes along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Beto was a loving husband, father and provider that lived by old world values and ethics taught to him by his father. To Beto a handshake was always a promise honored. Beto was a strong silent type that was dedicated to his neighborhood community, his family and service minded toward his fellow man, he was also extremely honorably and faithful. Beto served honorably and valantly in the United State Army and was a World War II veteran and a survivor of the D Day invasion on Omaha Beach Normandy, France, he also served in northern France and in the Rhineland obtaining the rank of Seargant. During his military career Beto was awarded the American Theater Campaign Medal, EAME Campaign Medal with three Bronze Stars one Bronze Arrowhead with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Ribbon, One Service Stripe and Overseas Service Bars.

Visitation will take place at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel Monday July 21, 2014 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will take place at St Margaret Mary Catholic Church at 12:00pm Tuesday July 22, 2014 with a committal service to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, with military honors.
