Graveside Services for Betty Jane Anderson, 88, of Tyler, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Buda Live Oak Community Cemetery in Buda, TX. with Pastor Tim Anderson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.

Betty went to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, in Tyler.

She was born on June 22, 1926 in Bridgeport, TX. to Curtis Oliver Thompson, Sr. and Audrey Lea Pate Thompson. She was raised by her grandparents, Thomas Sinclair and Nora Elizabeth Pate.

She was a gospel singer on KRLD radio in Dallas in the 1940's. She worked with her beloved husband, Dan Anderson, at the Greyhound Bus Station in Port Arthur, TX. and with him in their auto parts business in Austin. Betty retired from the Veterans Administration IT department in Austin in 1996. Her remaining years were spent living in Tyler with her family. We will miss her smiling face.


She is survived by daughters, Valarie and husband Carl Collins, of Tyler and Cynthia and husband, Dr. Chris Pederson, of San Antonio; son, Lonnie Anderson, of Bullard; eleven grandchildren, Anton, Blake, Candice, Carolanne, Chase, Chris, Daedra, Lacey, Liv, Paige, and Stephen; and four great-grandchildren, Lexi, Cayley, Mason and Maggye.

In addition to her parents and grandparents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Dan Anderson; and brother, Curtis Thompson, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Landes, Mike Anderson, Rex Fortune, Chris Pederson, Anton Pederson and Greg Burchfield.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, April 6, 2015 at Lloyd James Funeral Home.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 4900 Kinsey Drive, in Tyler on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at, 10:30 A.M. Pastor Mark Braaten will officiate the service.
