Betty Jean Reece, 82, of South Louisville was born on March 13, 1935 in Louisville to the late Charles and Mildred (Zirnheld) Borgel, and passed from this life on Thursday September 14, 2017. Betty was a member of the Rutledge Road Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 63 years Melvin Reece; her mother, Mildred Kleinholter; a daughter Ginger Whitehouse; sons, Melvin Reece, Jr., Kimie Ray Reece, and Derald Lynn Reece; brothers, Ronald Borgel and Charles Borgel, Jr.; and several grand and great grandchildren. Funeral service for Betty will be held at the Southern Home of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. on Saturday September 16, 2017 at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 3-8 pm Friday.

Aunt Betty I surer will miss you. You was my favorite Aunt. Every time I think of you i think about all the time we would come your house and sit outside on those warm nites. And me and Ginger would try to stay out of trouble. But we did You Rip you lived a good life and we will always be in our heart and memories there will never be another you ❤
