Betty L. Ross age 87, of Greenville passed away at 7:35 AM on Friday, May 12, 2017, at the Brethren Retirement Community in Greenville. Betty was born February 21, 1930, in Randolph County, Indiana to the late Paul K. & Helen O. (Brown) Anders.
Betty is survived by her children, Mike Ross, Jackie Henn, Robyn & Dean Banter and John & Karen Ross; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; aunt, Leona Flora; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Betty was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Ross on January 21, 2009 whom she married September 11, 1948; son-in-law, Gary Henn; daughter-in-law, Cathy Ross; and sister & brother-in-law, Jeannine & Ted Fisher.
Betty retired from Uhlman's Department Store in Greenville. She was a member of the Triumphant Christian Center in Greenville. Betty had a beautiful voice and belonged to the Calvary Messenger Gospel Group. She was a self-taught piano player and entertained her children and grandchildren on Christmas Eve playing Boogie Woogie. Betty was a fantastic cook and amazing Christian Woman making God and her family the most important part of her life.
The family would like to thank the Brethren Retirement Community staff, nurses and nurse's aides on the 5th floor, State of the Heart Care and her niece, Jody Oberer who spent countless hours with Betty.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Shilot officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or State of the Heart Care.
