Betty Ingersoll Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 27, 2015.

Born November 4, 1933 to Melvin Lepp and Wilma Davis, Betty Ruth Ingersoll lived a long and beautiful life. Betty passed away March 25, 2015 in Lafayette, CO and will be so greatly missed by many family and friends. Betty is survived by her two wonderful children Stephen (Leslie) Ingersoll and Vaughn Ingersoll, Grandchildren Steve Ingersoll, Lee Ingersoll, Luke Ingersoll, Mike Ingersoll, and Amanda Ingersoll, Great-Grandchildren Ashton Ingersoll, Austin Ingersoll, Cole Ingersoll, Charlie Ingersoll, Samantha Ingersoll and Tucker Ingersoll. Preceding Betting in passing are her Mother Wilma Davis, Father Melvin Lepp, Brother Gerald Lepp, and her beloved Husband Herb Ingersoll.

Betty and Herb were married in Denver, CO on December 18, 1953. Betty lived her life as a Homemaker and a very talented one at that. She spent her time writing music, poetry and even tinkering around with a book. Over the years Betty sent her works to various publishers and while she collected her occasional rejection letters, she took great pride in her published works. Betty was written about in many publications such as The World Who's Who of Women, The World Who's Who of Poetry, and The World Who's Who of Intellectuals, just to name a few. Copies of these articles can be found in her photo gallery. She was the Vice President of the Colorado Poetry Society and belonged to the National Federation of State Poetry Societies Incorporated.

In addition to her talented work as a literary artist and musician, Betty took a great sense of pride in her community. She was presented with an award from The International Directory of Distinguished Leadership First Edition for Service to her Community. As a religious woman Betty received her PhD in Divinity in Florida. She was a member of the Divinity College in the Rapture Church of God in Arvada, CO. Her husband Dr. Reverend Herbert Ingersoll was a Pastor of the Rapture Church of God.

Betty had several years of higher education including, but not limited to, 6 years of piano, organ, music theory & composition, Language study, 4 years of English, Drama, and Literature & Creative Writing. Betty was a teacher of theology and Bible doctrines, lecturer, and composer of Gospel songs. She wrote both the music and the words for her songs. Betty was involved in the publication of a women's magazine entitled "Her". Not only did Betty write music, she also was a performer, appearing as an organist and gospel soloist on the radio and often sang and recited for religious and other gatherings as well as at nursing homes, hospitals, weddings, and funerals. Betty also belonged to the Amateur Organists Association International, National Thespian Society, Troupe 151, International Platform Association, Smithsonian Associates and the Quill Club.

It is so very apparent that Betty Ruth Ingersoll was highly intelligent and used it to its fullest extent. She was a loving mother, a caring wife, and a devoted artist. It is important that she be recognized for all of her life's accomplishments equally. She had so much love in her heart and she expressed it in a plethora of ways.

The pastors add message is closed and I know sister Ingersoll doesn't mind because they are one.Pastor remembered we talked and when I was young I went to Amazing Grace and you and sister Ingersoll was going to the same church at the same time. When I moved to Arvada something kept telling me to go to Rapture Church Of God it was like the Lord kept me close to you. You have always preached the truth. Remember you taught me to drive a school bus? You were right by my side when I gave birth to Michael ( i couldn't of made it without you).So many joyful times.Always there to give me advice. You would pick the kids up from school for me when they were sick. Taught me to bring the kids to church when there sick and you would pray for them.Joshua has a picture of you and him, you bapitizing him ,he loves you so and took this very hard.It was never about you it was always helping someone else. When I hear someone say" good grief "it reminds me of you.You always let me be who I was and gs 've me God's word. I can go on and on but will be together soon . I love you and my heart hurts because I miss you both you mean the world to me.So again it's not bye.it's see you later. Love you today ,tomarrow and forever Angie. PS; VAUGHN AND STEVE I'M ALWAYS HERE FOR YOU and please e-mail me from time to time and let me know how your doing please. Angie

Sister Ingersoll I miss you so much,it's hard for me to face your not hear on earth but your in heaven with Pastor, your mom and they rest of your love ones.We had such a special bond that no one could take from us and you have taught me so much. You were there through all my hard times, when they said my husband wouldn't live when he fell down the mine shaft, you cut my son's cord when he was born,I remember when I would spend the night at your house we would make all kinds of snacks and lay in bed and watch Touch by an Angel, weekends we would always go shopping together alot of good memories, I still have dreams about you both.Only regret I wish I could of been with you when you needed me. I have learned so much from you. I love you forever and always.Angie

I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. Our mothers shared the same birthday and a great friendship when they were younger. Betty was like a second mother to me when I was young. My heart goes out to you both, Vaughn and Steve. I loved looking at the photo book!
