Born June 10, 1921 in Tulsa, OK, the daughter of Mary and George Kritikos an immigrant of Greece. One of nine children, she married Elijah Ashlock in 1940 shortly after graduating from Central High. They raised four children in Los Gatos, CA and later spent almost two decades on 88 acres in Groveland, CA. The forest fire of 1987 burned down their home and they then moved to Auburn to be near their son, Ronald Ashlock, where they spent their golden years.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years and is survived by son, Ronald Ashlock of Meadow Vista, and by daughters, Peggy Gamboa of Sonora, Betty Correa of Lincoln, CA and Carole McKown of Moscow, ID. Betty is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She passed on peacefully August 25th at the age of 92. She thought of life as that short period before going exuberantly to be with her Lord and Savior forever! A service of celebration will be held at Chapel of the Hills on Lincoln Way, Auburn, on Sept. 5th at 1:00 pm with viewing at 12:00 pm before being laid to rest alongside her husband at New Auburn Cemetery, Auburn, CA.
