I can remember when visiting you, you always had loads of food for us to stuff our faces with we never left hungry. You always had a smile on your face the moment we walked in the door, you would sing to us and give us great big hugs. I remember watching a video of when you and grampa used to live on Carriage Hill in the apartment you kept trying to get me to sing twinkle twinkle for the camera or the hershey bars you guys would leave in a certain spot in the fridge for me. You will never be forgotten love you gram, we will meet again!

One can only smile thinking of Betty. As a student in Garrison School my mom was in the hospital and Betty made sure I had plenty to eat. She watched out for everyone but I felt she kept a special eye out for me. Over the years our paths crossed many times with that huge hug and a smile with Betty wanting to know how life was. My last hug was only weeks ago when we met up at the Dr's office. Mrs Craigue I will always love and remember you. David Murray

Betty,
My mom and I think about you often and miss you so much at Florence V. Hodges. The corner gatherings fell a apart after you left us. Last summer only a few gatherings, this summer no gatherings at all there. Our hearts will be empty without you just as that corner has been. We miss those jolly gatherings as you were the life of every event there. Our prayers and thoughts go out to you and to your family. We know you will bring a lot of happiness and joyful gatherings to Heaven. Miss you Betty and someday we will have those happy times again with you.
Love and God Bless to you and your family.

I first met Betty in the spring of 1972. I arrived at Garrison School for a teacher interview. It was just before lunch period. After my interview the principal gave me a tour. As we approached the cafeteria I could smell wonderful aromas. The principal led me into the kitchen---Betty's kitchen. This lovely, warm, smiling stranger handed me a freshly baked blueberry muffin-still warm. I immediately felt at home. I was a skinny bachelor far from my mother's Connecticut kitchen. For the next few years I bulked up!! Betty's hot lunch meals, desserts , and muffins were legendary throughout the school district. Her sincere caring and warm fellowship made my days at Garrison School my home away from home.
God Bless you, Betty, and your lovely family.

I am so sorry to hear of Betty's passing. What an amazing lady. I have always realized that one of the special things about Betty, was how special she made everyone she came in contact with feel. the enthusiasm of her hello, even if she just saw you the day before, her warm hugs, her infectious laughter, always her interest in the wellbeing of others. God Bless you Betty, rest well dear friend

To Betty's family, I am so sorry for your loss, what an amazing lady she was. As I sit here and think of all of my memories of her, I have always understood what made her so special. She had this wonderful way of making everyone around her feel very special. Her big hugs, her bursts of joy to see an old friend walk through the door, her joyful laughter and her enthusiasm to hear every detail of what was happening in ones life. God blessed us all with Betty.

Gram you were a great woman who I always loved being around and if we left your house hungry it was our own fault. I can remember you being in the ICU at Concord Hospital and you wanted to know if I was hungry and wanted anything. Every time we have a cookout I will have a burnt hotdog and a highball for you. Until we meet again in heaven I love you
