Betty Jean Bledsoe Haas, age 75, of Marion, NC died Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Memorial Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC.
She was born March 4, 1938 in McDowell County, NC to the late Walter L. Bledsoe and Martha E. Fender Bledsoe. She was a member of East Marion Pentecostal Holiness Church where over the years she served in many ways including choir member, Pioneer Girls Leader, Lifeline Secretary and Treasurer church and local district, Secretary and Treasurer of the Ladies Auxiliary, Vice President of W.M., President of W.M., Board Member of W.M. and Nursery Worker.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Haas; one brother, James A. Bledsoe; and one sister, Mellissa Bledsoe.
Surviving Mrs. Haas are one brother, Jerry Bledsoe and wife, Julia of Marion; and one sister, Margaret E. Bledsoe of Marion; and a special friend, Brenda Hayes of Marion.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, March 11, 2013 in McCall Memorial Chapel at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Don Reynolds, Rev. Ottis Collins and Rev. Virginia Craig officiating. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Zelda J. Fender Ledford
Betty was a sweet person and I would go and visit her in the evening when it was warm weather. We would sit on her deck and I was in my elec-wheel-chair. We both love birds, dogs and flowers. She love the Lord. I will miss her. God bless those who are left behind.
