Betty Jo Higginbotham of Parkersburg, passed away June 10, 2012 at Worthington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Jan. 16, 1942 in Smithers, WV, a daughter to the late Mattison and Abbie Cobb. She had worked at Economy Industries in Harrisville and in her later years was care taker for the elderly. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society of Worthington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Cobb, and sisters, Nora Mae Sams, Mary Ellen Stewart, Emma Stanton, Pearl Rushing, and Ruth Milam. Betty Jo Higginbotham of Parkersburg, passed away June 10, 2012 at Worthington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Jan. 16, 1942 in Smithers, WV, a daughter to the late Mattison and Abbie Cobb. She had worked at Economy Industries in Harrisville and in her later years was care taker for the elderly. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society of Worthington Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Cobb, and sisters, Nora Mae Sams, Mary Ellen Stewart, Emma Stanton, Pearl Rushing, and Ruth Milam.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Higginbotham of Florida, and Stephen Higginbotham of Clarksburg, two daughters, Deborah Felder of Florida, and Crystal Burwell (Mark) of Harrisville, two grandchildren, Craig Burwell (Becky) of Belpre, and Joscelyne Felder of Florida, one great grandchild Hunter Burwell, brothers and sisters, James Cobb (Gloria), Howard Cobb (Becky), Shirley Crawford, Juanita Maxwell, Dottie Bosley, Texanna Jean Starling, and Carol Snider, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Worthington Nursing and Rehabilitation, along with Dr. Powderly for their care.
Service will be Wednesday, June 13, 2012, 3 pm at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home, Parkersburg
Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be from 1 pm until the time of the service on Wednesday.
