Betty Jean Miller (née Block) passed away peacefully in her home on October 31, 2012 at the age of 84 Betty Jean was born on March 10, 1928 to William and Lily Block in Wyandotte, Michigan. She was the beloved wife of the late George A. Miller for 62 years until his death in 2009. Loving mother of Susan (Ed) Lorenz, Joan (Donald) Connell, Carole Miller and the late David Miller. Dear grandma of Matthew (Michelle) Lorenz, Benjamin (Conny) Lorenz, Rebecca (John) Duff, Nathan (Laura) Connell and Eric (Meagan) Connell. Betty Jean was born on March 10, 1928 to William and Lily Block in Wyandotte, Michigan. She was the beloved wife of the late George A. Miller for 62 years until his death in 2009. Loving mother of Susan (Ed) Lorenz, Joan (Donald) Connell, Carole Miller and the late David Miller. Dear grandma of Matthew (Michelle) Lorenz, Benjamin (Conny) Lorenz, Rebecca (John) Duff, Nathan (Laura) Connell and Eric (Meagan) Connell. Proud great-grandma of Zachary Lorenz, Rachael Lorenz, Timothy Lorenz, Noah Lorenz, Lillian Duff and Michael Connell. Also survived by her sister Alice A. (Robert) Miller of Oviedo, FL.

Most recently a resident of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Betty previously resided in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Southgate, Michigan. She enjoyed a long career as a real estate agent and broker. She was employed by Real Estate One in Michigan, opened her own business as Betty Miller and Associates in Taylor, Michigan and sold commercial real estate for Jon Fels and Associates after relocating to Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

She was always active in the communities in which she lived. Betty volunteered her time and talents to the Girl Scouts of America in both Michigan and Louisiana. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Southgate, Michigan where she served as choir director, member of the Ladies' Guild and was involved in many other church-related activities. Lutheran Church of our Savior became her church home in Baton Rouge where she was active in many capacities, including the worship committee and choir.

The family will receive friends for a Memorial Service at 2:00pm on Sunday, November 4, 2001 at St. Joseph Mercy's Huron Woods Chapel 5361 McAuley, Ypsilanti, Michigan 48197.
The Huron Woods Chapel is located on the campus of St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Superior Township. After turning on McAuley Drive, follow the signs for the "Senior Area". Huron Woods is located in the "Senior Health Building". The entrance to go in will have a greenish color carport. Call (734)712-5600 for further directions.
