BEVERLY DEVENISH
April 30,1929 - July 23, 2014
Beverly Devenish, a resident of Scarborough for 47 years, passed away at the age of 85. Loving spouse of Ted for 49 years. Supportive mother of Jim (Susan) and Bob. Loving grandmother of Jen, Matt and Caleb. Sister of Kay Briggs, June Yole and predeceased by her brother Bill Pye. She was born and proudly raised in Hamilton (Go Tiger Cats), daughter of the late Bill and Margaret Pye. She had worked with Bell Canada, The Bay and The Canadian Cancer Society until retirement in 1991, when she and Ted took the time to travel 37 countries. Beverly was an active member in the community and a member of Knob Hill United Church. Her selfless, supportive and giving personality shone through as she volunteered for 17 years at Bendale Acres, where she herself resided for the past 18 months. She had an avid interest in sports, music and theatre. Friends may call to JERRETT FUNERAL HOME, 660 Kennedy Rd., Scarborough, 416 266 4404, on Tuesday, July 29 from 2-4 and 7 -9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday July 30, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Knob Hill United Church, 23 Gage Ave., Scarborough. Burial to follow at Resthaven Cemetery, 2700 Kingston Rd., Donations may be made to Knob Hill United Church. Online condolences may be left at www.jerrettfuneralhome.com
