Billie R. Langford-Bennison, 80, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2010. She was born in Shelby County, KY on July 27, 1929 and was a long term resident of Louisville and the St. Matthews area. Her most enjoyable work experience was as a food demonstrator at Kroger on Hubbards Lane, where she loved to meet and interact with everyone she encountered. Billie's greatest joy was her love of family and giving to others.
She was preceded in death by her son, Keith; parents, Ernest and Ruby Langford and two brothers, Jimmy and Tommy Langford.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, William L. Bennison; three sons, Jerry, Steve (Brenda) and Kevin; five grandchildren, Jackie Bennison, Jessica Watson, Patrick Bennison, Cody Bennison, Brittany Bennison ; great-grandson, Devon; brother, Johnny Langford; two sisters, Anna Halford and Flo Fitzhugh.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m Friday in the chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son Funeral Home, Westport Rd. at Herr lane. Burial will follow in Floydsburg Cemetery in Crestwood. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m Thursday.
Memorial gifts may be made to Hosparus of Louisville or donor's favorite charity.
