Billie Jean Davis, 85 of Amarillo passed away June 19, 2014. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell. Billie Jean Ramsey was born in Pryor, Oklahoma on July 12, 1928 to Emmett and Myrtle Ramsey. She graduated from Pryor High School in 1946. She then attended and graduated from Northeastern Oklahoma State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma with a degree in Education. She taught in Salina, Kansas where she met her husband, Bobby L. Davis. They...

Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell. Billie Jean Ramsey was born in Pryor, Oklahoma on July 12, 1928 to Emmett and Myrtle Ramsey. She graduated from Pryor High School in 1946. She then attended and graduated from Northeastern Oklahoma State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma with a degree in Education. She taught in Salina, Kansas where she met her husband, Bobby L. Davis. They married May 22, 1954 and then moved to Amarillo when he was transferred to the Amarillo Airbase. They had three children; a son, Sonny Davis born December 3, 1955 and twins, Renee and Sheree born on June 26, 1957. Billie taught school at River Road for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Davis; son, Sonny Davis and grandson, Thomas Hightower, Jr. Survivors include daughters, Sheree Hightower and husband Tom and Renee O'Neill and husband Thom; granddaughters, Rachel Sanders and husband Justin, and Shauna Hightower; grandsons, Bobby Sabedra and wife Brandy Ezell, Christopher Hightower and wife Sabrina; great-grandchildren, Taylor Dickson, Alyssa Hightower and Tristan Chadwick, Faith and Benjamin Ramonez, Clarissa and Thomas Hightower, III.
