Billy McClellan Grindstaff, 76, of Old Fort, NC went to be with the Lord Sunday, November 11, 2012 at McDowell Hospital.

He was born December 26, 1935 in McDowell County, to the late Robert D. Grindstaff and Ruth Allison Grindstaff. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother, Dan Grindstaff and his sister, Martha Sue Grindstaff.

Surviving Mr. Grindstaff are his wife of 57 years, Jeanette Ferguson Grindstaff of the home; four sons, Steve and wife, Debbie of Marion, Donnie and wife, Donna of Lincolnton, Mark and wife, Susan of Old Fort and Keith and wife, Dawn of Old Fort; nine grandchildren, Donnie, Daniel, Brett, Chris, Megan, Katelyn, Kourtney, Cherish and Kayleigh; five great-grandchildren, Raegan, Lexi, Alexis, Trinity and William; and one sister-in-law, Dot Brown Grindstaff of Leicester.

A Celebration of Mr. Grindstaff's Life will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church with Rev. Harold Webb and Rev. David McHale officiating. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Ebenezer United Methodist Church General Fund 744 Ebenezer Church Rd. Old Fort, NC 28762.
