Obituary

Billy Nubern Ingram, a Montevallo, AL native and life-long resident of the Birmingham, AL area, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014. He was 86. The U.S. Navy Veteran earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Alabama. He was employed 32 years in the cement production industry. His favorite pastimes included fishing, baseball, golf, and hunting. He was an elder at Central Church of Christ and a founding elder at Riverchase Church of Christ. Billy Nubern Ingram, a Montevallo, AL native and life-long resident of the Birmingham, AL area, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014. He was 86.

The U.S. Navy Veteran earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Alabama. He was employed 32 years in the cement production industry. His favorite pastimes included fishing, baseball, golf, and hunting. He was an elder at Central Church of Christ and a founding elder at Riverchase Church of Christ.

On June 2, 2014, Billy and his bride, the former Emily Juliette Brantley, celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. In addition to "Judy," Billy is survived by one daughter, Pam McCullough (Bob); one son, William L. Ingram (Carol); six grandchildren, Jennifer Chandler (Charley), Andrew Reed (Emmalee), Katie Arrant (Drew), William Brantley Ingram, Grayson Mitchell Ingram, and Stonewall Jackson Ingram; four great-grandchildren, Wyatt Chandler, Ellie Chandler, Sophie Reed, and Caroline Arrant; two sisters-in-law, Marie Echols and Frances Brantley; and several first cousins including Jean Patterson and Jackie Ingram.

The family will greet friends one hour before the 1 p.m. funeral service on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Riverchase Church of Christ. Dwayne Spivey, Gary Bradley Jr., and Keith Jones will officiate, and Manley Denton will be leading congregational singing.

The committal service will be at 1:15 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Riverchase Church of Christ.
