Billy Thomas is and will always be my son-in-law, but more of a son. Words cannot express the extreme pain and the emptiness I feel in my heart and life. In the 9 1/2 years that I got to know Billy, he was always finding ways to make you laugh. If it wasn't by showing off his (nice) tattoos, or some sarcastic (sweet) come-back, it was the way he played with his kids, Sarah and Noah. You couldn't help but laugh, or at least smile. There were no quite moments with Billy around, he kept you on your toes at all times, and I liked it that way. You never knew what to expect from Billy. But, what I did know, is that he loved my Becky. No matter what, he loved her so much he couldn't see himself without her. THAT, he could not see, so he decided to leave us first. Billy Thomas, MIJO, I will forever have a void in my heart and life, as will my entire family with your loss. You have no idea how much we love you. You showed Rudy and I the love that parents get and feel from a child. Thank you so much for that mijo. Our lives are filled with wonderful memories thanks to you. Only we have those memories and will treasure them always and forever. I will forever miss your smile, your laughter, your jokes, your spontaneity, the way you played and protected my grandchildren, but most of all, the way you truly loved my Becky. Only she knows how much, but, I saw it... You were a wonderful loving father, husband, and son. Thank you for sharing your life with us. Our lives have forever changed because of knowing you. You will forever be missed and loved. I love you mijo....Always and Forever, Your Mamasita

My son, CJ Virgil and daughter in law, Danielle Virgil served with Billy. I've heard such wonderful things about this young man and want his family to know that I thank God they were together in Afghanistan for one another. I've heard so many wonderful things about him, and want you all to know that you have been in my prayers. CJ and Dani will have a void in their hearts forever from his loss. As a parent I can't even begin to express my sympathy to his wife, family and parents. There are no words. Blessings to you all. Julie Lynn Jackson - Very proud mom of CJ Virgil and Danielle Virgil.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I write this. Billy was a great friend and even better man. No matter how one felt, he could make them smile. Sometimes it was sarcastic humor, but more than often a friendly ear. He will be missed by anyone that ever had the pleasure of meeting him. Rebecca, Sarah, Noah and the rest of his family; Billy was and always will be an important part of the Air force and more importantly the AMMO community. Just as we were all there for him, we are there for you as well. Your family is much larger than you can imagine. Don't ever hesitate if there is something that you all need to reach out to your AMMO family. My deepest sympathy, Dan

Becky, It was such an honor getting to welcome Billy home three times. Getting to meet you, Sarah, and Noah. And my heart aches with you and for you. Billy was unique and such a joy to know. . The thought, work, and love he put into making that "beautiful gift" for me shows how unique he really was. (What I did was little for all that he did for all of us.) I will treasure that gift always and it is displayed in a prominent place in my home. I will truly miss him and his emails . So thankful I have lots of pictures and that you have copies too. Thoughts and prayers are with you, Sarah and Noah. Much love, Charlotte

Billy, you will be dearly missed buddy. You were a model airman, an even better friend, and a great man. Even though life and circumstances took us in different directions, I have always considered you one of my close friends and have always fondly remembered our time at Luke and hanging out around Phoenix. Rebecca, the kids, and family are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Becky,
We are truly saddened with BJ's death. Our prayers and condolences are with you, Sarah, Noah, the entire family and friends who loved him dearly. He was a good man, a great husband and father, and friend to all who knew him. I pray you will trust in God, no matter, all the days of your life. As Psalm 18:2 reminds us, "The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer: my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold." May God bless you always, and in all ways.

Billy It doesn't seem real and we're both still in shock. I keep expecting to see you out and about having a good time. I'll remember all the times, we shared. Either out and about or work wise. All the laughter, jokes, smiles and short time we all had with you. You will be missed more then you will ever know.

Don't cry for me now I am gone, I did not die, my life goes on.
For all we shared throughout the years, send me your love without your tears.
I couldn't stay, and so instead, I've walked a little way ahead.
This morning I awoke again, to face another day of pain,
And suddenly beheld a door, I'm certain wasn't there before.
And, trying, found to my surprise, with ease and comfort I could rise.
And at the door to welcome me, stood countless friends and family.
Well-loved and lost so long ago, all gathered now to let me know,
Eternal are the ties that bind our hearts to those we leave behind.
Please don't think I don't still care, those we loved here are still loved there.
The darkest night will end with dawn, don't cry for me, my life goes on.
LLL,
