Billy Joe Wadkins, 81, of Hot Springs, passed away Monday, August 11, 2014. He was born February 11, 1933 in Hartley, Arkansas to John and Martha Wadkins. Billy is predeceased by his parents, brother, A.J. Wadkins, sister, Johnnie Faye Hibbers, and baby daughter, Sandra Kay Wadkins. Sergeant First Class Billy Joe Wadkins enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and served in Germany and continued in the Army Reserve through the Vietnam War. Bill was a licensed electrician working many years for Gilliam Electric and Daniell Heat & Air. He is survived by his wife, Becky Wadkins, his son, Tim Wadkins, his daughter, Sherry...

Billy Joe Wadkins, 81, of Hot Springs, passed away Monday, August 11, 2014. He was born February 11, 1933 in Hartley, Arkansas to John and Martha Wadkins. Billy is predeceased by his parents, brother, A.J. Wadkins, sister, Johnnie Faye Hibbers, and baby daughter, Sandra Kay Wadkins.



Sergeant First Class Billy Joe Wadkins enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and served in Germany and continued in the Army Reserve through the Vietnam War. Bill was a licensed electrician working many years for Gilliam Electric and Daniell Heat & Air.



He is survived by his wife, Becky Wadkins, his son, Tim Wadkins, his daughter, Sherry (Ricky) Oliver; brother, Dwayne (Charlene) Wadkins of Waldron, sister-in-law, Susan Lynch, sister-in-law and husband, Cindy and Patrick Tenney, and nephew, Will Tenney, his beloved pet and best friend, Cody, five grandchildren, Erik McCaslin, Nichole Edwards, Jessica Lundeen, Jenny Kincannon and Scott Oliver and nine great-grandchildren.



Pallbearers will be Darroll Goines, Brandon Lynch, Jeff Lynch, Will Tenney, Patrick Tenney, and Carl Erickson.



Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Kyle Roper, Dr. Martin Koehn, Dr. Robert McCrary, Dr. Youssef Yammine, Dr. Thalia Casimire, Dr. Fred Heinemann, Jerry and Marta Kinsey, Dale and Matt Diggs, Steve and Crystal Pasley, Army Reserve-Company A of 489-Combat Engineers Division, CHI St. Vincent Outpatient, 2 East, Critical Care Unit, and Cardiac Rehab, Employees of Mary’s Burgers & More, Employees of Mor Electric, and Employees of Abilities Unlimited.



Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Gross Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m with Reverend Jonathan Beyers officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
