Passed away December 24, 2013. Beloved husband of Barbara. Loving father of Craig (Donna) Zimmett and Scott (Julie) Zimmett. Dear brother of Ellin (Sonny) Heilig. Cherished Grandfather of Alissa, Hannah, and Carrie. Predeceased by brother Howard (Corrine) Zimmett and parents Sophie and Jack Zimmett. Will be missed my many nieces and nephews and countless friends and colleagues.

Longtime member of Temple Beth Am. Member of many organizations including The Musicians Union, Footlighter's Club, Florida Bar, American Bar Association and Dade County Bar Association. Past President of many organizations including the following: B'nai B'rith, Tiger Bay Club (twice), South Miami Kendall Bar Association and Attorney's Real Estate Council.

Veteran of both World War II (Army Air Corps) and The Korean War (Air Force).

Bob was born on October 3, 1926, in Brooklyn New York, during the World Series. He attended John J. Pershing Jr. High and graduated from New Utrecht High School, both in Brooklyn. He graduated from Brooklyn College in 1949 and from The University of Miami Law School in 1956. He was a lawyer since 1956, and practiced with son, Craig, for the past 19 years. Although from Brooklyn, and a member of the Brooklyn Dodgers Knothole Club, he loved the Yankees. He also loved the Dolphins and was an inaugural and current season ticket holder. He was also a member of the first Federal Judicial Nominating Commission in Florida, organized in 1974.

His first love was music and he played saxophone and clarinet. Music quickly took a back seat to the love of his life, Barbara. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 7th, 2013, with all of his family. He was a pillar of the legal community and adored and loved by all that he met. He will be dearly missed.
