Obituary

Blanche (Roadcap) Via Peace, 84, of Waynesboro passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her family. Born August 15, 1929 in Augusta County, she was the daughter of the late Carl J. and Beryle (Nutty) Roadcap. Mrs. Peace was a faithful employee of DuPont for 15 years and later was employed at Speedys Food Mart. She was an active member of the Women of the Moose Lodge where she obtained the highest degree possibly at the local level. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Gail Elizabeth Peace; siblings, Margaret Nutty Mace and Tuck Nutty. Survivors include her loving husband of...
Blanche (Roadcap) Via Peace, 84, of Waynesboro passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her family.
Born August 15, 1929 in Augusta County, she was the daughter of the late Carl J. and Beryle (Nutty) Roadcap.
Mrs. Peace was a faithful employee of DuPont for 15 years and later was employed at Speedys Food Mart. She was an active member of the Women of the Moose Lodge where she obtained the highest degree possibly at the local level.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Gail Elizabeth Peace; siblings, Margaret Nutty Mace and Tuck Nutty.
Survivors include her loving husband of 52 years, William Harold Peace; her children, Carson Via, Dana H. Peace and William J. Peace; grandchildren, Chris Brown, Laura Via and Heather Peace; eight grandchildren; one great-great grandson.
A graveside service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Monday, June 16, 2014 at Edgewood Cemetery, Grottoes with The Rev. Clayton Payne officiating. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 618 W. Main St., at 3:00 PM to go in procession to the cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Chris, Caleb and Carson Via, Jimmy Mace, Alvin Mace and Gary Bright.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice, 420 Neff Ave., Suite 110, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.
The family would like to give a special heartfelt thank you to Southern Care Hospice for their love and care of Blanche.
