Bobby M. Donaldson, "Bobby D." 72, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 05, 2014. A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Bellevue Baptist Church, 5925 Price Road, Macon. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Chris Minton officiating. The family will greet friends on Monday, July 7, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Bobby D. was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Ed and Ruth Donaldson. Bobby was a retired Lieutenant with the Macon Bibb County Fire Department for thirty two years; he served on the Board of the Fireman's Credit Union and the State Fireman's Association. He was owner of Quality Paint and worked for Southern Facilities for twenty four years. He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church. Bobby was known for his infectious laugh and rallying for the "underdog". He was the #1 customer who enjoyed sitting on the porch and socializing with everyone at "Miss Hattie's Kitchen and Bakery" in Bolingbroke.

Bobby never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mildred N. Donaldson of Macon, three daughters; Elaine (Rick) Thomas of Macon, Lynn (Gregory) Booth of Macon, and Dana (Eddie) Booth of Jones, Co., five grandchildren; Joseph (Lynsey) Thomas of Atlanta, Brett Mitchell of Jones, Co., Gabriel Thomas of Macon, Ashlee and Carlee Booth of Jones Co., sister; Agnes Donaldson of Macon and cousin; Carmine Carpenter of Macon.

I think I have known Bobby and Mildred all my life. I grew up on the mill village and went to Willingham Baptist Church with them. This is one of the closest families I have ever known and such a large family. Bobby will be missed, but everyone has their own memories of him. Prayers and hugs to all the family.
