Brendon D. Healey, of Boca Raton, FL, formerly of Scituate, MA, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2017 at home. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Ann (McNamara), their children, Mark (Robin) of Boca Raton, Florida, Mary of Boca Raton, Florida , Chris (Kim) of Sacramento, California, David (Brian) of West Palm Beach, Florida, Thom (Diana) of Fullerton, California, Susan (Mike) of Clarke County, Virginia, 10 beloved grandchildren Molly, Brendon, Lauren, Morgan, Nicholas, Sam, Declan, Mia, Clare, Zoe, his brothers the late William, Kevin (Kathi), and Martin, brother-in-law Robert McNamara (Pat), and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Son of the late William and Katherine Healey, Brendon grew up in Dorchester until moving to Quincy to attend and graduate from North Quincy High School in 1951. After graduation he joined the United States Marine Corps where he proudly served until 1956. Upon returning from the Korean War, he worked for the telephone company as a cable splicer's helper, married his beloved wife Ann McNamara, R.N., and started a family. While working fulltime, he attended Boston University on the G.I. Bill and graduated after seven years of night school in 1964 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Upon graduation, he began his 30+ year career in sales and marketing for New England Telephone before retiring as an Executive from NYNEX in 1991. Brendon was an active member of the NYNEX retiree organization and valued his colleagues and friends. He was an active member of Marshfield Country Club for many years.
His pride serving in the Marine Corps and working for the telephone company were secondary to his love and pride in his family and friends. With 6 children, 10 grandchildren, 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, 28 nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, lifelong friends, neighborhood families and golfing buddies, Brendon lived his life full of love, kindness and generosity.
The Healey family has planned a celebration of Brendon's life with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 1, 2017, at St. Mary's of the Nativity, Scituate, MA. The family invites family and friends to join them at the Barker Tavern, Scituate from 12:00-4:00 p.m. for a memorial luncheon. There is no one i've respected more in my life time than Mr. Brendon Healey. He was the epitome of a great man, a great father, a great American. To his children who i consider my brothers and sisters, you're enormously blessed to have called him your dad. And i'm blessed to have grown up with all of you. I'll always remember my last moment with Brendon, a testimony to his dry wit, which i'll share with everyone when i see you next. Sail on, Brendon. Thank you for making a difference in my life.

Dear Ann, Brendon and I traveled the same path for many years: NQHS '51, serving in the Korean conflict, returning to attend BU and then working for the phone company. Brendon was born just one day before me in July 1933. His charismatic personality made him a joy to know.
