YOUNG, Brent Andrew (Sizzlelean) - 38, of Nordegg, Alberta, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2011, doing what he loves in the mountains of Jasper National Park, Alberta. Brent was born September 17, 1972 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Those who had the privilege of meeting and coming to know Brent will tell you that he was a caring, passionate and unforgettable character who embraced life with richness and fullness that is difficult to capture in words. Brent was a remarkable and unique individual that had an outlook on life that only he could master. He lived each and every moment completely his way, offering some very wise and profound adages - "No Dramas", "Shakakan" and "Cool Bananas" along the way. Brent will be missed dearly, and his energy will forever live in the hearts of many. Brent will be forever remembered and loved by his partner in crime Megan Story. Cherished by his father James and mother the late Marjorie Young, loved by his brothers and best friends Brad (Brandy) and Craig Young. Adored by his niece Olivia and nephews Taber and Nevan Young. Treasured as a grandson of Muriel (late Lawrence) Young and the late Roger and Frances Neave and further loved by his aunts, uncles, cousins and dearest friends. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cementation Centre on Monday, May 9, 2011 between 6pm and 9pm. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 11am. Rev. Nancy Ferguson officiating. Brent will be laid to rest with his mother Marjorie Young in Greenwood Cemetery as well as forever climbing and skiing in the Rocky Mountains. A memorial service will be held in Nordegg, AB at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the Nordegg Fire and EMS services, or the Sault Ste. Marie YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.
In the loving and parting words of Brent Young "have yourself a sunshiny day".

Sincere sympathy to Megan and Brent's family...
We were so sorry to hear of Brent's death. Our 3 families started coming to Shunda Creek Hostel several years ago on May long weekend and at Thanksgiving. Brent was always a very kind and welcoming host to both the adults and children in our group. Thanksgiving dinner this year won't be the same without him.
We will forever remember Brent, so calm, cool, and always smiling.
No worries, no drama, take it easy....

It was a real shock to hear of Brent's passing. But at the very least we can take solace that he was doing something he loved. I will treasure my latest trip to Canada all the more now, because it included a visit from Brent.
Now I look forward to returning to the Rockies more than ever... because it holds yet another beautiful element... Brent's undying spirit.
All our love from Twiggy & the Smith's Down Under.

We are so sorry to hear of Brent's passing. My husband Dave and I had a few chuckles with Brent (& Craig) at the store in Elliot Lake when we delivered Sault Stars there. Brent always had a huge smile - even when he 'blew a flip-flop'. Our thoughts are with you all at this time - take care of each other.

Dear Jimmy and family,
How very sad we were to receive the news of the untimely accident and tragic circumstance surrounding your wonderful son, Brent.
In as much as all of our "Young Clan" has not been together for a long time, I truly believe that we are all in each other's thoughts and prayers.
I regret the fact that I did not know Brent personally, but he sounds so like our wonderful children. Full of fun, adventure, happiness, caring and sharing.
With my children, grandchildren and I are so far away in
Vancouver, I would dearly wish to be there with you in your time of grief.
Suffice to say, we, the "Vern Young Family" consisting of all of Shirley's family, Frankie and Fran's family, Carol's family and my family are with you in spirit as our prayers go to you all, over the miles.
I know your pain, as we lost my daughter Lori 2 years ago to breast cancer. It does not seem natural that a child passes away before the parent, but God does work in mysterious ways and there is no reasoning for it at times.
We all send our very deepest condolences for your family healing. Please, let us keep in touch.
Love
Lois and family

Hello,
Although I don't know Brent or your family, I do know the pain of losing a loved one in the Rockies. My daughter, Angela, died on September 12, 2004 while descending Mount Richardson in Banff National Park. She had been working at the Lake Louise Alpine Centre for only three weeks. She too died doing what she loved and her memory lives on in many ways, but I still miss her tremendously. Please accept my condolences.

I was so saddened to hear of Brent's passing. We knew him as our wonderful friend "flipflop guy" in Elliot lake. Brent's energy, and can-do attitude always made me smile and laugh. I am indeed so very sorry for the loss of a wonderful and unique person.

Brent's courage and sense of adventure inspired so many people to try new things and reach to new heights. No matter what was going on in his world, he had a magical gift of making you smile and laugh. He was truly selfless and completely genuine. While I have always considered myself fortunate to have been blessed with such a wonderful friend, I take great comfort in knowing how many lives he touched - much like he touched mine. I cherish every memory and giggle I shared with Brent, and know that having him in my life made me a better person.
My heart is filled with such sadness for his short life, for his family and friends - especially Megan. Much love and sympathy to you all.
Rest in peace Brent, thanks for all the sunshine you brought into this world.
