Brian DeSouza Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 26, 2016.

Brian F. de Souza, age 60, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
He was born in Toronto, Ontario on October 29, 1956 and moved to Phoenix, AZ in 2001. He retired from Avnet after almost 28 years of employment.
Brian is survived by his loving wife, Pam (Essigmann) de Souza of Phoenix, and his three brothers, Michael de Souza of St. John, Newfoundland, Wayne (Denise) de Souza of Orangeville, Ontario, and Daryll (Peggy) de Souza of Olds, Alberta, Canada, as well as his beloved dog, Brandi, and his two favorite Sun Devils, Melinda Brown and Jillian Barry of Woburn, MA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Irma (Colosimo) de Souza and father, Frank de Souza of Toronto.
Brian was not only an influence but a joy to so many people. He was fortunate enough to do so in two countries, both USA and Canada. He enjoyed sharing a laugh with friends and family, fly in fishing trips with his brothers, target shooting, car shows, traveling, and, most of all, cooking. He was also a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed many football games with friends.
Friends and family who wish to say goodbye to Brian may do so Saturday December 3rd. Services begin at 12 noon at the Valley of the Sun Mortuary & Cemetery, 10940 E. Chandler Heights Road, Chandler, AZ 85248. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Esophageal Cancer Awareness Association, https://www.ecaware.org/give/donate in Brian's honor.

Pam, so very sorry for your loss. I only had the privilege of working with Brian a few times at Avnet. He was awesome and will be sorely missed. The things I remember most are his smile and his sense of humor. Both of which he was more than willing to share!

Dear Brian,
You've gone on to greater things now and I will miss you. I wish we could have said goodbye, but that's ok because you left me with so many great ways to remember you by. When the Cowboys are on my TV. The annual Christmas Party. When Barret Jackson comes to town... just to name a few. I am blessed and honored to be one of your friends and I look forward to being with you again in the afterlife! I know you will be with me in spirit and smiling as the Raiders win the Super Bowl against the Cowboys this year. =) God Bless you my friend.

Your Pal,
Strat
