Brian Dean Allen, born June 27, 1975, in Killeen, Texas died July 1, 2013, at his home in Bertram, Texas. He was 38 years old.
He is survived by his step- sons Jacob and Hunter Allen of Bertram, father Rickie Allen and wife Carol of Bertram, mother Mollie Bersch and husband Thomas of Copperas Cove, brother Kevin Allen and wife Naomi and their daughter Kaylee of China Spring, grandfather William D Allen of Topsey, grandmother Cecilia (Heidi) Rhymer of Copperas Cove, aunt Tonia Kirkham of Copperas Cove and cousins James Kirkham and Lari Kell. Brian was preceded in death by grandmother Wanda Allen of Topsey and grandfather Carl Rhymer Sr. of Copperas Cove.
Brian grew up in Copperas Cove and after graduating from CCHS moved to the DFW area to work for the phone company MCI. He was transferred to the Austin area and continued to work until he was laid off when the company collapsed. Soon afterwards he realized his dream of starting his own business in the metal building construction business and founded Metalworkz Construction from scratch. His strong work ethic, honesty, and commitment made his business flourish and he became a very well-known and prominent businessman in Central Texas.
Brian was an avid game hunter and fisherman but his most enjoyed pleasure was to be with his friends and family. His sense of humor was his trademark as well as the ability to be an embellished story teller. Brian was a very generous and kind- hearted man and would help anyone in need. He could be seen driving from Austin to Dallas and everywhere in between in his big red truck with his sidekick Ranger, a Labrador retriever, by his side.
Brian's faith in the Lord was very strong and one of his greatest rewards was building the Hill Country Fellowship Church in Burnet of which he was a member. It is a vision of beauty and he was so grateful for the opportunity to serve his God in this manner.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 7, 2013, from 5 to 7 P.M. at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet. The funeral service will be held Monday, July 8 at 10 A.M. at Hill Country Fellowship Church officiated by Rodney McGee. Those named as pallbearers were Jamey Dilley, Gary Friedel, Bill Kelly, Dan Honig, Dillon Ferguson, Dallas Ferguson, and Gary Holland. Condolences may be offered to www.clementswilcoxburnet.com. For memorial contribution designations please call Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home 512-756-2222.

Brian Allen was the best friend anyone could have had. I only knew him for a couple years, but he was a great friend. He was always there to help even if you didn't ask for it. My heart is heavy with this news. I'm so lucky to have known such a great person. Taken too soon. I hope to make it up there to walk those streets of gold with you some day brother. I love you and will always miss you.

My thoughts and prayers have been with the entire Allen family ever since I heard the news. Kevin and Mollie, I am so sorry for the grief and devastation that you both are going through. I wish I could say that it gets easier, or that time heals all wounds, but I cannot. It is my opinion that we simply learn to cope with the loss over time, but the sadness is always there. At least that has been the case with me. It breaks my heart that anyone has to go through that kind of grief and despair. Stay strong, and cling tight to every single memory you have of Brian. . Prayers to you all. - -

Brian was a one of a kind man. To think that the world will never hear his laugh, see his smile, or hear his voice is a true tragedy. He was a generous man that cared for others. His death is a tragedy. He will be missed.

To the Allen and Bersch Families,
Thank you for sharing Brian with me all of these 26 years of my life. He was a blessing to me in so many ways. My heart is beyond broken for you, all of his loved ones and myself. I know that time will eventually heal all, but now is our time to mourn and a time to reflect on the beautiful life we all shared with him. He will forever live in our hearts as a piece of us; a constant reminder of how we should live to serve our God and be there for each other regardless of the reason. May God grant you comfort during this devastation and despair, may he shine his light for you to see clearly again. May he love you always and repair your hearts the loss of our beloved son, brother and friend has left within us.
Brian, I loved you then and I love you now... you're forever a piece of me that can not be duplicated or replaced. Wait for me and when we see each again some day soon make sure you greet me with one of those big huge Brian teddy bear hugs. It will be long well overdue. I love you Bry!
All of my love and prayers

Oh, Aunt Mollie- My heart goes out to you and Kevin and the whole family during this most devastating time of sorrow. I know there is nothing anyone can say or do that can ease any of the pain you are feeling, but please know that with time comes healing.
When I was told that Brian was gone, all I could picture was my cute little cousin as he was when you visited us in North Carolina when he was like 8 years old. He was the sweetest little boy! I will forever remember him just as he was then.
I love you Aunt Mollie and I will be thinking of you and praying that you find the strength you need to make this hard journey and that each passing day gets easier for you.

Kevin, again, if there is ANYTHING I can do to help, please let me know. I extend this to Mom and Dad and all in Brian's family. If ya need pictures, someone to talk to, help setting things up, prayers (already doing), donations, ideas, talk about the good times, love and support....just anything....let me know. I don't just mean during this hard week. I mean ever. I know he was your brother and your other half and I have very good memories of you and him. The closeness he had with you and his family was admirable and unlike any I have ever seen. He made a difference in my life as he did in so many others. He was truly a unique person and unlike any I have or ever or will ever know. He was my best friend, a roommate and he has made me a better person just to know him. I know I share these same thoughts with so many others. In my 19 years of knowing him, and my 42 years of being alive, I have never met another guy that has meant so much to me. He is one friend that I have said that I sincerely love. I miss him so much. We all do. I have so much I could write and say about him. I could talk "FOR DAYZ!" I am eager to hear what everyone else has to say as well. There is so many good things I know about him and so many good things that I do not, and hope to hear from others in their stories. He is and always will be my most irreplaceable and amazing friend. My life is not whole without him. As a friend, I consider him my other half. I love you Brian!!!!! I love you to Kev! Take care and pray for the strength to deal with this great loss. That's what Brian would tell me and told me back in 2005. IT WORKS!!!
PS. Lil' Buddy, since I can't call you, please talk to me everynow and then. It doesn't matter when or where. I miss US.
