A bright light in many people's lives has gone out. Brian Wayne Bomberger, Sr. passed away suddenly on December 21, 2013 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Brian was born June 29, 1964 in Columbus, MS, the youngest of Mary L. and Boyd J. Bomberger's five children. Brian attended Westlawn Elementary, Pine Street Middle School, and graduated from Texas High in 1982.

Brian's first job was with Harold's Pizza and worked for the popular Hush Puppy Restaurant and Sears. After graduation, Brian served in the Air Force. Following his service, he became an over-the-road truck driver as an owner/operator. Driving gave Brian the opportunity to make many friends across the United States. During his travels, he was also able to visit his extended family. On one such visit with relatives in Idaho, Brian pulled a woman out of the river when her raft overturned and sent her into a cold, swift current. Brian participated in the Trucker's Buddy program and was an active member of the Patriot Guard Riders.

Brian is preceded in death by his father, Boyd J. Bomberger, Sr., and brothers, Thomas L. (Breeze) Beal and Alan (Albo) Bomberger, all of Texarkana. He is survived by his sons, Brian
Wayne Bomberger, Jr. of Maryland and Sam Bomberger of Rochester, NY; his mother, Mary L. Bomberger of Texarkana, TX; his sister and brother-in-law, Linda S. and Daniel R. Cherry
of Redwater, TX; his brother and sister-in-law, Boyd "Jay" Bomberger, Jr. and Lynne M. Bomberger of Texarkana, TX; and, Diana Kokko, Brian's partner in life. There are also many
other family members and friends struggling to understand why he is gone too soon, especially Brian's cousin, Jeff Bomberger of Omaha, Nebraska who was with Brian as he passed from this world.

Brian knew and befriended so many people. His childhood friend, Scott Treadway; his former teacher and friend, Mark Oglesby; and, Bobby Shafer are just a few of the many that
were part of Brian's vast network of friends.

Brian was known for his kindness, his fun and loving personality, and his willingness to help anyone. Brian was also known for his political debates and jokes.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Circle J Cowboy Church, 6912 Blackman
Ferry Road, Texarkana, AR, with Pastor Todd Hervey officiating.

Memorials may be made to at www.stjude.org/donate or Make A Wish Foundation at www.wish.org.

"I only knew of Brian thru my friend Linda Cherry and the love of my life Jay Bomberger. I am so sorry for your loss but as we all know God has a plan for..."
