Bruce Joseph Aucoin, 89, of Port Arthur passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family. Bruce was born November 23, 1923, in Port Arthur to the late Ernest and Valerie Aucoin. He was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur and was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Port Neches.
Bruce is described by his family as a loving husband, devoted father and proud grandfather. He retired from Texaco in 1981 as a Machinist with over 36 years of service. Bruce enjoyed gardening, working on his yard, fishing and hunting. Bruce's greatest joy and achievement in life was raising and spending time with his 4 sons. He will be greatly missed by many.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Milton Aucoin and E.J. Aucoin, sister, Betty Joyce Aucoin.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Billie Jean Aucoin, sons, David Aucoin and his wife Janice of El Cajon, California; James Aucoin and his wife Mary of Port Arthur; Mark Aucoin and his wife Cindy of Port Arthur; John Aucoin of Port Arthur; brother, Burney Aucoin of Groves; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2012, from 1:00 p.m., until 5:00 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 17, 2012, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home with entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Fr. Cliff Rucker officiating.
