Bruce B. Bean, 85, died peacefully Wednesday afternoon, July 3, 2013, at his home in Grand Prairie. Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, Grand Prairie. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens, Arlington. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Funeraria Del Angel, formerly Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home, 733 Dalworth St., Grand Prairie. Born in Grand Prairie on Aug. 11, 1927, Bruce graduated from Grand Prairie High School in 1944. Bruce B. Bean, 85, died peacefully Wednesday afternoon, July 3, 2013, at his home in Grand Prairie. Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, Grand Prairie. Born in Grand Prairie on Aug. 11, 1927, Bruce graduated from Grand Prairie High School in 1944. He attended Texas A&M and joined the United States Marine Corp in 1945, Casual Company, he was an expert marksman. He was a member of the Host Lions Club, Sam R. Hamilton Lodge 1031, served on the Grand Prairie ISD School Board. Bruce started his funeral career at Moore Funeral Home in Arlington; he was former owner of Southland Funeral Home and Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home in Grand Prairie. He was preceded in death by daughter, Carol Bean Watters; granddaughter, Keirsten Head; sister, Violet Bean; and brother, William S. Bean. Survivors: Wife, JoAnne Bean; daughter, Connie Head; granddaughter, Vanessa Watters; grandson, Thomas Watters; sisters, Annabelle Hancock, Kathleen Moore, Mozelle Mills and husband, George; and many nieces and nephews. Memorials: Donations may be made to West Disaster Relief Fund, West First Baptist Church, 501 N. Marable St., West, Texas 76691.
