Bruce showed me how to cut Bob's hair about 1958 and I have been doing it since.

Baseball..A great moment for me and Bruce. I believe it was our senior year in high school. It was the first of the seventh inning (last inning of game), with Warsaw leading by one run. There were two outs and we had runners on second and third base. I was the batter at the plate and the Warsaw coach, Dewey Todd, told the pitcher to walk me and he did. Bruce was the next batter up. He hit a ground ball or a low line drive into right field and two runs scored. We retired Warsaw in the last of the seventh inning without their scoring again, so we won! Bruce was the hero that day!!

As long as I can remember, I always loved listening to Uncle Bruce tell stories with not only a big smile on his face, but a twinkle in his eyes. My forever memory will be walking back from Roscoe Village to Grandma McCoy's house with Darla to the sound of a saxophone playing and discovered it was our Uncle Bruce. He was leaning against the guard rail playing her saxophone and I remember thinking I'm sure everybody walking to their vehicle enjoyed listening to him play too. We will miss you so much Uncle Bruce. I would give anything to hear another story, see another smile, or just get a get a hug from you. Until we meet again Uncle Bruce! We love you!

I was truly saddened by the loss of my Uncle Bruce. It has taken me a long time to put together the words to post on here, but after visiting with a lot of friends and family members at the calling hours, I feel like I know him even better. I agree with my cousin Colleen, he was a force when he entered a room and he was my larger-than-life uncle. It was hard to see him decline over the last 6 years, so I'm trying oh so hard to hold on the memories from before. I remember when my almost 17 year old son, Nash, needed his first haircut. There was not a second thought given, that I wanted "Uncle Bruce" to do it. The hard part was, he and Jeannie were constantly on the go, and it was hard to pin him down. Those are the types of memories i will keep close to my heart. Miss you so much! Darcy (Lint) Strohl (Linda McCoy Lint's oldest daughter, Mansfield, Ohio)

I can't think of Uncle Bruce without a smile! He was my larger-than-life uncle. When I was little, I remember him swooping me up almost to the ceiling and then down for a hug. He could always be counted on to lead an expedition to the candy store in Roscoe or to the ice cream shop. He let us sit in his car and "drive", attempt to play his saxophone, admire his train sets...his ornery smile was so much like my dad's, and I loved to see it. Much love to all my Ohio family. Remember what Grandma McCoy always said, "Go make some memories, you'll live on them one day." We have lots of loving memories of Uncle Bruce.

My belated, but sincere sympathy to Sally and Linda and to all of Bruce's siblings and family. I think Bruce got the yen for barbering from visiting my grandad's shop as a kid in Canal Lewisville.

Gary Bluck

Gary Bluck recalls many years ago taking his son Tracy Bluck to get his first haircut. Tracy was less than thrilled about getting his hair cut. At the time Bruce had a Harley Davidson Motorcycle, he carried Tracy outside and put him on the seat of the bike. Tracy thought he was big stuff and was happy to get his hair cut as long as he could stay on the Harley. First time for everything!

Kay and Family ~
Some of the most memorable moments I have of your Dad as an adult; is he was one Funny and Giving Guy. His Smile and Ornery Eyes just told a story before he even spoke....as a child I remember him taking our little girls softball team to the Dairy Hut after a game for ice cream many times; whether we won or lost, it didn't matter to him! I know he left an impression on all the people who knew and loved him! Now he is leaving his special mark in Heaven! He will be deeply missed here on earth!

Bruce was a friend of mine and a joy to be around. I followed Bruce as Master of the Plainfield Masonic Lodge. We practiced out Lodge inspections together and attended other lodge meetings in the district. He had so many funny stories but the one that I will always remember was about a man who brought a monkey in Bruce's barbershop. My sympathy to his family. He will be missed by many.

Sorry to hear of Bruce's passing. I knew Bruce from Lodge. He was always ready to help the "youngsters" learn ritual. He was a great help to me with the lectures.
He helped many of us and was always ready to step in and help at the meetings. He was an asset to his Lodge and a friend to many of us. May he rest in peace.
