Burton Joseph Kleinsmith, 95, of Georgetown, Texas went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 11, 2014. He was born on February 15, 1919 in Medina, New York to parents, Ernest Fredrick Kleinsmith and Kathleen Reid Kleinsmith. He graduated from Medina High School in 1936. He went on to take college preparatory classes at Pennsylvania State University. He began his career with the H.J. Heinz Co. at the age of 18. He entered the United States Army in 1941 and served in World War II until he was honorably discharged in 1946 with the rank of Captain. Burton Joseph Kleinsmith, 95, of Georgetown, Texas went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 11, 2014. He was born on February 15, 1919 in Medina, New York to parents, Ernest Fredrick Kleinsmith and Kathleen Reid Kleinsmith. He graduated from Medina High School in 1936. He went on to take college preparatory classes at Pennsylvania State University. He began his career with the H.J. Heinz Co. at the age of 18. He entered the United States Army in 1941 and served in World War II until he was honorably discharged in 1946 with the rank of Captain.

Burton married Ruth Schultz in Medina, New York on August 2, 1958. They were happily married for over 55 years. During their lifetime together they lived in Pittsburgh and Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; Holland, Michigan and Stockton, California until Burton's retirement from the H.J. Heinz Co. in 1982. Upon retirement, they enjoyed traveling around the world together. In 1999, they relocated to Georgetown, Texas in order to be closer to their family.

Burton was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Kleinsmith; his parents; his sister, Norma Kleinsmith and his brother, Elywn Kleinsmith.

Burton will be remembered by his wife, Ruth Kleinsmith; daughter, Kathy Dance of Round Rock, TX; grandsons, Andrew and Trevor Dance of Round Rock, TX; cousins, Vera Crawshaw of Middleport, NY and Bob Reid of McLean, Virginia and two nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 510 Luther Drive, Georgetown, Texas, 78628 on Tuesday, March 18 at 11:00 A.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, Georgetown, Texas in honor of Burton.

A memorial and interment service will be held in Medina, New York at a future date.

Arrangements under the direction of Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home, Georgetown, TX.
